Training Courses
Training we offer:

- A NCFE qualification for volunteers and stewards that are required to undertake functions on the highways or in car parks. In compliance of Road Traffic Signs Regulations.
- Non- certificated steward training for volunteers.
- NCFE or Train4Sport qualifications for new or experienced stewards and supervisors working at professional events.
- Drugs Awareness.
- Conflict Management.
- Customer Service at Sporting Venues.
- Human Resources - courses on issues such as grievance procedures, discipline, good practice etc.
Chapter 8 Preparation and planning for Temporary Traffic Management on the Highway
A one day course targeted at all levels of Event Management, including Safety Officers. This course would also be beneficial to anyone involved in applying for Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) for planned events, who require knowledge of basic TTM practice on Highways.
Class sizes would be for a maximum of 12 delegates. This course includes all the necessary underpinning knowledge of temporary traffic management and the design procedures used. This provides event organisers with the required knowledge of current basic practice and all the legal requirements where they apply.
On completion of the session delegates will be able to:
- State the requirements of National Highway Sector Schemes.
- Interpret the requirements of ‘The Safety at Street Works and Road Works, A Code of Practice (The Red Book)’ and further guidance from ‘The Traffic Signs Manual’, Chapter 8.
- Consider all options available to determine the level and extent of the Temporary Traffic Management required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the site risk assessment process.
- Assess and determine temporary traffic layout requirements for a given event location, activity or operation.
- Identify the required standard of equipment that is acceptable to use.
- Demonstrate best practice when determining the suitability of TTM plans before applying to a Highways Authority for permissions for road closures and traffic diversions.

- Handouts to illustrate particular issues.
- Final Assessment by simulation exercises.
Chapter 8 Roadcraft
The first and only qualification aimed at improving road safety at events. This is a one day course aimed at all sectors of the Stewarding workforce carrying out Traffic Marshalling duties on public Highways and Car Parks, to:
- Establish the important roles for those working as professional stewards or volunteers at large or small events.
- Provide practical skills training for stewards responsible for Traffic Marshalling
- Explain the importance of Health and Safety at events.
- Demonstrate the correct road marshalling procedures including signing and coning.
- Explain how to conform to the requirements of Chapter 8 Road Traffic Signs Regulations.
- Reduce insurance risks.

Training is undertaken by former police officers who all have vast experience in road safety. Qualification endorsement would be through a national awarding body and approval by licensing authorities.
All equipment for this training can be supplied by us. Training is by arrangement at a date, time and venue of your choice. There would be an assessment of candidates at the end of the course and a Certificate of Completion licensed by the National College of Further Education (NCFE).
